China is currently navigating a critical period of transitioning from old to new economic drivers, with the battery industry deeply intertwined with economic transformation, energy security, and global competition. On May 15, the 17th China International Battery Fair (CIBF 2025) opened in Shenzhen, showcasing innovations and development roadmaps across the entire battery industry chain.
As a global leader in lithium battery technology, Bak Battery unveiled its three core product lines—cylindrical, polymer, and prismatic batteries—demonstrating a full-scenario product matrix designed to inject robust momentum into the development of advanced productivity.
With terminal products rapidly evolving toward cordless, low-carbon, and clean solutions, emerging industries such as humanoid robots, quadruped robots, eVTOLs, BBUs, and drone delivery are fueling demand for higher-performance batteries. Cylindrical batteries, known for their compatibility with high-energy material systems, safety, and standardization, are emerging as "energy capsules" powering multiple sectors.
Bak Battery, a pioneer in cylindrical technology for over two decades, has built a comprehensive product platform emphasizing high capacity, power, and safety. Leveraging advancements in full-tab technology, high-nickel/high-silicon materials, proprietary low-temperature electrolytes, and directional pressure-release systems, Bak continues to push performance boundaries. Its full-tab cylindrical battery lineup—spanning 18, 21, and 46-series cells—offers significant improvements in discharge capacity, endurance, charging speed, and cycle life compared to traditional designs.
-The 1865-30D cell, targeting power tools, supports 60A continuous discharge, charges from 10% to 80% SOC in 9 minutes, and delivers 600 cycles with stable performance across -40℃ to 80℃.
-The 2170 D-series excels in smart home and power tool applications.
-The 4680 cell achieves an energy density of 300 Wh/kg, 4C fast charging, and zero thermal runaway.
For e-bike safety, Bak’s PRO-M battery meets China’s stringent GB43854-2024 and GB40559-2024 standards, passes rigorous nail penetration tests, and offers wide-temperature adaptability and long cycle life, redefining urban mobility.
Solid-state batteries, the next-gen power solution, are fast approaching commercialization. Bak plans to launch a 390 Wh/kg solid-state battery by late 2025, targeting safety equipment, EV battery swapping, and eVTOLs. Current prototypes already pass nail penetration tests and are being deployed in explosion-proof devices.
Meanwhile, Bak’s polymer batteries—featuring high power, fast charging, high energy density, and wide-temperature performance—power smartphones, portable chargers, and smart home devices, aligning with AI-driven consumer electronics trends.
Prismatic Batteries: Pioneering a Green Future
As energy storage shifts from scale expansion to high-quality development, Bak’s 688Ah prismatic cell reduces cost-per-Wh, enhancing competitiveness in clean energy. Its prismatic lineup excels in cycle life, energy density, and low-temperature performance, serving telecom base stations, residential/industrial storage, and renewable energy systems.
In transportation, Bak’s 100Ah prismatic cell has earned China Classification Society certification, while other models power low-temperature vehicles, golf carts, electric trucks, and lead-acid replacement solutions.
Embracing the Next Phase of Industry Evolution
2025 marks the conclusion of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan and the dawn of the 15th. As a pillar of China’s "New Three" industries, lithium batteries face challenges in efficiency, quality, and supply chain resilience.
Liu Zhibo, Bak Battery’s Executive Vice President, stated: "As an early pioneer in China’s lithium battery sector, Bak has driven the industry’s rise from follower to global leader. At this pivotal moment in energy transition, we remain committed to innovation, R&D, and high-quality solutions to empower sustainable growth and a greener future."
By integrating cutting-edge technology with cross-sector applications, Bak Battery continues to solidify its role as a catalyst for global energy transformation.
