CORNEX Battery at Green and Intelligent Inland Waterway Ships Exhibition

At the Wuhan International Expo Center on September 8, the New Technology and Equipment for Green and Intelligent Inland Waterway Ships Exhibition brought together key industry participants. As a co-host, CORNEX used the event to present a comprehensive marine energy portfolio, including purpose-built battery cells for vessels, liquid-cooled marine systems, and high-capacity storage cells. Together, these offerings form an end-to-end approach to reducing carbon emissions in inland shipping.

CORNEX’s display reflected two major trends shaping the maritime sector: the global pursuit of net-zero emissions and the accelerating electrification of commercial vessels. To address both, the company introduced dedicated marine battery lines based on lithium-ion and sodium-ion chemistries. Its 320Ah lithium marine cell is designed for high energy density and long cycle life, making it suitable for the demanding power and range requirements of inland waterways. For sodium-ion applications, the 165Ah and 350Ah cells provide a cost-effective and highly safe option, supported by abundant raw materials, strong cold-weather performance, and excellent thermal stability. These products serve vessels of different tonnages, operating conditions, and navigation zones.

In system integration, CORNEX highlighted two advanced liquid-cooling battery systems built for challenging marine environments. The 10-foot lithium-ion system, powered by 320Ah cells, uses sophisticated thermal management to ensure safe and stable operation in high-energy-density configurations. The 20-foot sodium-ion system incorporates CORNEX’s proprietary sodium battery cells, leveraging their wide operating temperature range to offer a cost-efficient solution for larger vessels. Both systems feature modular architectures, intelligent BMS controls, and heavy-duty protective enclosures.

CORNEX also presented its 588Ah and 648Ah ultra-high-capacity energy storage battery cells, expanding applications in port energy storage and shore power facilities. These products help create an integrated “Vessel-Port-Shore” green energy ecosystem. Looking ahead, CORNEX will continue increasing R&D investment and working with partners across the maritime value chain to help build a cleaner, smarter future for global shipping.
