HiTHIUM Unveils Next-Gen 4MWh Sodium-Ion Energy Storage System

At its Sept. 16, 2026 “Powered Day in, Day out” event, HiTHIUM—a Xiamen, China-headquartered energy storage technology firm with global operations—rolled out a next-generation integrated sodium-ion storage offering. The product lineup features the ∞Power N4.0MWh, a 4MWh sodium-ion energy storage system built around the company’s ∞Cell N785Ah sodium-ion battery. HiTHIUM said it plans to enter full-scale production and delivery in 2027.

The company presented the debut as a step toward taking sodium-ion solutions out of the testing phase and into broad deployment. It said the strategy leverages know-how spanning materials, cells, production, system integration, station use and lifecycle support. According to HiTHIUM, sodium’s widespread availability makes it attractive for resource security and stable supply chains.

For storage duties, the ∞Cell N785Ah is rated for 20,000 cycles and can handle storage durations of two to eight hours, the company said. It also noted that the cell can be produced on its 1,000 Ah lithium-ion platform, using existing lines for cells and system integration—an overlap that could speed sodium-ion expansion.

The ∞Power N4.0MWh uses stacked cells and comes with a dedicated BMS whose state-of-charge estimates stay within 2.5% error, according to HiTHIUM. It works with 800V–1,500V power conversion equipment. Those design choices lift rated-power utilization by over 20% relative to the company’s earlier sodium-ion system, HiTHIUM said.

HiTHIUM also said the system’s architecture cuts the station’s footprint by 30% and achieves over 88% round-the-clock comprehensive efficiency. To reduce parasitic loads, it combines air-liquid cooling, AI-driven thermal control and on-site weather monitoring; the company expects this to trim operating auxiliary power use by 30% and standby auxiliary power use by 50%.

The platform is built for a 30-year lifetime, according to HiTHIUM, and could move beyond utility-scale projects into commercial and industrial, residential and wider energy-access markets. The company also launched the ∞Edge Pioneer Program, a three-year effort to test its batteries and systems under extreme conditions.
