An Austrian client needed to build a LiFePO4 battery pack, so he contacted us for some advice. After some communication, he had two options for his application: GBS 3.2V 50Ah prismatic LiFePO4 battery cells and Winston TSWB-LYP60AHA 60Ah LiFeYPO4 cells.
The GBS 3.2V 50Ah LiFePO4 battery cell has a nominal voltage of 3.2V and a capacity of 50Ah, supports a max charge rate of 1C and a max discharge rate of 5C, and offers a cycle life of 3000 cycles. The Winston TSWB-LYP60AHA 60Ah LiFeYPO4 battery cell has a nominal voltage of 3.2V and a capacity of 60Ah, a wider operating voltage range of 2.8V to 4.0V and a wider temperature range of -45°C to 85°C than regular LiFePO4 battery cells. Its max charge and discharge rates are 3C and 10C respectively, and the cycle life can reach 5000 times at 80% DOD. After comparing the parameters of these two LiFePO4 cells, although the Winston cell had a higher price, the client decisively chose it, believing that the better performance would provide a longer service life.

The client ordered 24 pieces of Winston TSWB-LYP60AHA LiFeYPO4 battery cells. We tested every single battery cell and then packed the cells and accessories into a plywood case with UN3480 certification.
