CATL 3.2V 280Ah LiFePO4 Battery Cells Shipped to Canada for an Energy Storage System

A Canadian client ordered a large quantity of CATL 280Ah LiFePO4 prismatic battery cells to build a 1.5 MWh Energy Storage System (ESS).

First, they built a single battery bank with 24 pieces of 3.2V CATL 280Ah LiFePO4 cells in series, giving one 76.8V 280Ah battery bank with an energy of approx. 21.5 kWh. They needed about 71 of these battery banks to form the complete ESS.

We welded studs onto the terminals of each battery cell and provided the busbars so that they could easily connect all the cells.

These 280Ah LiFePO4 cells are manufactured by CATL, the leading LiFePO4 battery manufacturer from China. The cell, model number CB2W0, features a nominal voltage of 3.2V, a capacity of 280Ah, a typical energy of 896 Wh, an operating voltage range of 2.5–3.65V, and an ultra-long cycle life of 6,000 cycles. It is one of the most popular cells for energy storage systems.
