At its 2025 Global Technology Conference held on May 16-17, Gotion High-Tech announced major advancements for its highly anticipated "Jinshi" all-solid-state battery, alongside the launch of five other new battery products. Attended by prominent figures like Professor Konstantin Novoselov from the University of Manchester and Olaf Korzinovski, Executive Vice President of Volkswagen Group China, the event highlighted Gotion's technological strides.
Following the release of its first-generation "Jinshi" all-solid-state battery in May 2024, Gotion has now achieved a critical milestone: the official commissioning of its first all-solid-state pilot production line. This line, 100% independently developed, boasts a designed capacity of 0.2 GWh. Utilizing key technologies like high-precision coating, it has achieved an impressive yield rate of up to 90%.
Dr. Pan Ruijun, Head of Jinshi Solid-State Battery R&D, revealed at the launch: "Core equipment for this pilot line has a 100% domestic localization rate, and vehicle road testing with these batteries has already commenced."
Gotion's solid-state project team achieved breakthroughs in materials through micronized solid electrolytes, ultra-thin film-coated single-crystal cathodes, and 3D mesoporous silicon anodes. This enables the battery to reach an energy density of 350 Wh/kg, supporting a single-charge range of up to 1,000 km.
After 365 days of rigorous testing, the Jinshi battery made further material breakthroughs: ionic conductivity of the sulfide electrolyte increased by 60%, air stability significantly improved, and the specific capacity of cathode/anode materials saw major gains. Consequently, the cell capacity surged by 150% while preload force decreased by 90%. It passed extreme safety tests (nail penetration, thermal chamber, external short circuit, overcharge, crush) with flying colors, demonstrating comprehensive safety enhancement.
This marks a significant step towards Gotion's goals: small-batch vehicle testing for the Jinshi battery by 2027 and mass production by 2030.
Alongside Jinshi, Gotion launched its first semi-solid-state battery, the G-Dome. With an energy density of 300 Wh/kg, it extends the range of pure electric sedans to 1,000 km. The G-Dome features a "nano-level bulletproof vest" ensuring absolute safety (no fire, no explosion) even when pierced by a 3mm steel needle. Its unique adaptive solid-solid interface technology creates high-speed ion channels, guaranteeing stable and efficient performance throughout the battery's lifecycle.
Chief Scientist Zhu Xingbao announced that Gotion has planned a 12 GWh production line for semi-solid-state batteries. "The '001 prototype' equipped with G-Dome batteries has already surpassed 10,000 km in total mileage."
Gotion also introduced four other innovative products at the conference:
1. Morning Star II LMFP Battery: World's First LMFP Super-Fast Charge Cell
Building on the LMFP L600 cell launched in 2023 (now with annual material capacity exceeding 10,000 tons and adopted by major automakers), the upgraded Morning Star II leverages three key innovations: "LatticeFuse Hyper-Melt," "High-Entropy Doping Technology," and "Dune Self-Assembled Network Electrode Design." These solve core challenges of LMFP like conductivity, compaction density, and cycle life, achieving an ultra-high compaction density of 2.58 g/cm³ and 140 mAh/g discharge capacity at 5C rate.
Performance: Supports 10-minute fast charging, energy density jumps to 240 Wh/kg, retains 93% capacity at -20°C. Passes stringent pack-level thermal runaway tests ("zero thermal spread").
Range: Satisfies 850 km for pure EVs and 1500+ km for PHEVs, alleviating range anxiety.
2. G-Power Super Heavy-Duty Standard Pack: 116 kWh per Pack, MW-Class Ultra-Fast Charging
This world-first single 116 kWh pack achieves 175 Wh/kg energy density. It integrates four-gun concurrent charging and a 1000V high-voltage platform for MW-class charging, improving efficiency by 30%. Triple protection (low-temp active cathode material + wide-temp electrolyte + low-temp optimized cell formula) ensures efficient charging even at -30°C. Pioneering "zero degradation" technology offers zero capacity loss for the first 3,000 cycles, zero energy loss over 1.2 million km, and an ultra-long lifespan of 12 years or 10,000 cycles. Applicable for tractors, mixers, loaders, mining trucks, dump trucks, etc.
Status: Already in mass production and application, providing full-scenario power support for multiple vehicle models.
3. Qianyuan Smart Storage 20 MWh ESS: World-Leading Capacity, Air-Liquid Integrated Cooling
This modular energy storage container boasts a leading single-container capacity of 20 MWh and a design life of 25 years. Its seven-level safety protection system significantly enhances operational safety and reliability in extreme environments.
Market: Zhang Dongsheng, Head of Gotion ESS Research Institute, disclosed the product has secured over 6 GWh in orders (under construction or intended).
4. Axtrem Digital Solution: Industrial AI Agent for LiB Production in Industry 4.0
The Axtrem Industrial AI Agent is a self-learning, evolving lithium battery digital solution. It successfully balances and optimizes product yield, production efficiency, and cost control. It enables green manufacturing for green energy, freeing human resources from repetitive tasks to focus on innovation and decision-making.
