The new products launched for the North American market include a second-generation modular inverter for utility-scale PV projects, the next-generation PowerTitan 3.0 AC Block Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for large-scale applications, and the PowerStack 255CS BESS for commercial and industrial (C&I) use. 4.8 MW Modular Inverter: Compact Design, Major Impact  

Sungrow has launched the SG4800UD-MV-US 4.8 MW modular inverter for the North American market. This innovative solution merges the benefits of central and string inverters, delivering 800 kW per unit in a flexible design that lowers balance-of-system (BOS) costs. Its split modular construction allows inverter modules to be replaced in under an hour, cutting downtime and boosting operational efficiency.

Equipped with intelligent fault diagnosis for rapid issue identification and self-cleaning air ducts that reduce daily maintenance, the system simplifies spare parts management by requiring only one type of replacement module. Built for extreme conditions, it maintains 100% power output in ambient temperatures up to 45°C (113°F) and boasts a sealed NEMA 4X rating for superior reliability in harsh environments.

Advanced safety and performance are ensured through smart DC terminal temperature monitoring and a bottom pressure relief design. Moreover, its industry-leading PV grid-forming and off-grid commissioning capabilities allow for earlier commercial operation and improved return on investment (ROI), establishing a new standard for utility-scale solar systems across North America.

PowerTitan 3.0: Next-Generation AC Block Energy Storage System  

Energy storage is essential for reinforcing grid resilience and enabling broader renewable integration. For utility-scale applications, Sungrow presents the next-generation AC Block BESS – PowerTitan 3.0.

Lower Lifetime LCOS

Designed for the North American market, the PowerTitan 3.0 offers 6.9 MWh within a standard 20-foot ISO container. It combines batteries with a string PCS (Power Conversion System) supporting 2–8 hour configurations and introduces the first mass-produced 661Ah stacking LFP cell, rated for 12,500 cycles for outstanding reliability and cost-effectiveness.

The system also pioneers the use of a 430 kVA liquid-cooled SiC PCS, reaching up to 99.3% maximum efficiency and 93.6% round-trip efficiency (RTE) over 4 hours (92% including auxiliary load).

Five-level State of Charge (SOC) balancing—from cell to block—maximizes usable capacity, while a back-to-back layout shrinks the footprint by 21% compared to earlier models. Efficient liquid-cooled thermal management also reduces auxiliary power consumption and extends system life.

Safe and Reliable  

Safety is reinforced with 11-layer protection spanning from cell over-voltage to PCS AC fusing, along with Sungrow’s ArcDefender™ technology to mitigate arc fault risks. The system meets all North American Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements via advanced fire safety systems and is fully pre-tested and certified.

Rapid Deployment  

The PowerTitan 3.0 is built for quick installation. It is shipped fully UL9540-certified, and improved on-site operation and maintenance tools further accelerate commissioning compared to earlier generations.

Built-in Grid-Forming Capabilities  

Integrated with Sungrow’s Stem-Cell Grid-Forming Tech 2.0, the PowerTitan 3.0 anticipates and mitigates grid disruptions before they intensify. It supports synchronous renewables and storage grid-forming, GW-scale black start, seamless transition between grid-following and grid-forming modes, wide Short Circuit Ratio (SCR) adaptation (1-40), 20-millisecond rapid response, and 90° symmetrical/asymmetrical phase angle jump.

These functions facilitate swift grid recovery, optimize ancillary service revenue, and ensure dependability across all grid applications—from generation and transmission to microgrids and consumption endpoints.

PowerStack 255CS: Reinventing C&I Energy Storage  

Sungrow also introduced the PowerStack 255CS integrated energy storage system for the North American C&I sector. Using 314 Ah battery cells, it provides 257 kWh capacity in a 2-hour configuration.

Flexibility and Convenience

With a fully integrated PCS and Battery Management System (BMS), the PowerStack 255CS simplifies energy storage operations and reduces installation complexity. It supports multiple layout options for adaptable deployment, and its pre-installed, pre-commissioned components enable fast grid connection and improve deployment efficiency. The system is scalable, supporting parallel connections of up to 25 units for projects ranging from 257 kWh to 6.4 MWh.

High Efficiency  

The all-in-one design houses both batteries and PCS in a single cabinet, operating at three-phase 480 volts (nominal). The PCS achieves up to 98.6% efficiency, with a system RTE of 90%. A advanced liquid-cooled thermal management system reduces auxiliary power consumption by 40%, promoting a more efficient power supply.

Safety and Reliability

The system complies with global safety standards, including UL9540 and NFPA855/69, and incorporates multi-level protection validated through over 500 tests from cell to system level.
