According to media reports, on July 7, Gotion and SANY Group officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Changsha, Hunan Province. The two sides will focus on the core track of new energy heavy trucks, centering on loaders and key construction machinery products, and have locked in battery orders exceeding 10 GWh.
Under the agreement, SANY Group will purchase no less than 10 GWh of batteries from Gotion in 2027. The two parties also held in-depth discussions on Gotion’s CTB 2.0 technology, the application of lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) products, and the cooperation model for the integrated mobile storage, charging and battery-swapping system for electric heavy trucks (known as “Dianlala”), reaching a broad consensus on multiple areas of cooperation.
Market insiders commented that this marks one of the largest single battery cooperation orders for Gotion since 2026, signifying a deep integration of heavy machinery and batteries.
What does 10 GWh mean? Based on the current cell price of RMB 0.35 per Wh, the order is worth approximately RMB 3.5 billion.
SANY Group is a global leader in construction machinery. Its electrification strategy requires massive battery supply — the electrification of excavators, cranes and mixer trucks demands batteries on a scale no less than that of passenger vehicles.
By teaming up with SANY Group this time, Gotion has essentially locked in the “hidden giant market” of construction machinery electrification.
